We also offer many other blowing agents for various purposes.
For example, stainless steel balls and granules for blasting stainless steel surfaces. Nutshell grit for paint removal, etc.
Other blowing agents
Stainless round ball, CrS, BetaShot and stainless, angular grain, Cr
These materials are used when blasting stainless steel parts. The blasting agent does not leave rusting particles on the blasted surface.
The most common average particle sizes of stainless steel balls and granules:
0,2 mm
0,3 mm
0,4 mm.
Stainless steel balls and granules are delivered in 25 kg bags.
Blowing pressure: 3−6 bar
The material can be recycled up to 100 times.
Nutshell and plastic chips
Nutshell grit and plastic grit are suitable for removing layers of plastic, rubber and paint from metal surfaces, for example, when you want to avoid surface wear. These materials do not damage the surface of the object being blown (metal). They only remove impurities from the surface.
Working pressure: 1–5 bar
The material lasts several cycles, depending largely on the blowing pressure.
Silicon carbide, SiC
Silicon carbide is used in the same way as aluminum oxide. It is a very hard and sharp-edged blasting material.
Specific gravity: 3.2 kg/l
Hardness: Mohs 9.0-9.5
Working pressure: 2−5 bar
The material is as durable in the cycle as aluminum oxide.
Ceramic ball, Zirblast
Ceramic ball is a gentle but very effective spherical blasting grain. It is an alternative to glass ball for cleaning, matting, deburring and reducing profile depths of metal surfaces. The material is many times more durable than glass ball. On the other hand, it is also a very expensive blasting material.
Working pressure: 2−5 bar
Chemical composition:
ZrO2 67.0%
SiO2 31,0 %
Al2O2 2.0-3.0%
others 0.1%.
Specific gravity: 3.8 kg/l
Hardness: Mohs 7.2 / HRC 60
